Fire-extinguishing foams

As part of the ‘Fire-Extinguishing Foams’ laboratory module, the key parameters of various foaming agents and fire-extinguishing foams – such as viscosity, surface tension and water half-life – are determined experimentally. Furthermore, the relationship between fire-extinguishing efficiency and these very parameters is demonstrated. Successful completion of the module entitles students to one credit. This requires attendance at the introductory session and the completion of the laboratory experiments under supervision. Finally, students must deliver a 20-minute presentation in groups of three. Current dates and all information regarding compulsory registration can be found in the course’s Moodle module.
