Teaching at the Chair of Chemical Safety and Fire Defense

Particularly in the field of operational tactics and operational management, it is appropriate – and a matter of particular importance – to incorporate the following aspects into teaching, albeit inevitably to a limited extent:

• Aspects of leadership and management under high psychological stress
• General aspects of staff management and social skills
• Coaching elements as a means of enhancing leadership skills

The aim is, on the one hand, to provide students with a realistic picture of potential future areas of responsibility and their specific demands and pressures. On the other hand, the course teaches practical methods for stress reduction and the prevention of burnout.
