In cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Defence, the dual Bachelor’s degree programme in Security Engineering was launched for the first time in the 2017/18 winter semester for 25 students. Alongside the ‘standard’ Security Technology degree programme, civilian civil servants of the Bundeswehr also complete the full career training programme for the senior fire service in 42 months.
This combination, and the time-saving arrangement of the 3-year degree programme and the 2-year training programme, is only possible thanks to a meticulous comparison of the course content and the exploitation of synergies between the Security Engineering degree programme and the career training.

Students from the Bundeswehr are supported in particular by the department.
